The hospitality industry has a role to play in encouraging its customers to drink alcoholic beverages wisely and moderately, and to avoid drinking and driving.
CRFA supports responsible service of alcohol training programs in order to protect the safety of our customers, our employees and the public at large.
In Ontario, training in responsible service is mandatory for all liquor license holders, all managers, servers of beverage alcohol and security staff (among others). We support this requirement, which is facilitated by Smart Serve in Ontario, and expect our members to operate in full compliance of the laws governing responsible service.
CRFA is encouraging its licensed members to review and reinforce their practices around the responsible service of beverage alcohol.
CRFA’s 33,000 members include restaurants, bars, cafeterias and social and contract caterers, as well as accommodation, entertainment and institutional foodservice operators.
