TORONTO – The Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Ron Reaman as Vice President, Ontario.
With more than five years of experience as CRFA’s Vice President of Federal Government Affairs, Ron Reaman has worked on a number of key national issues such as domestic agriculture policy, food supply and international trade, as well as food safety, health and nutrition. Most recently, Reaman was a member of the Health Canada led Multi-stakeholder Sodium Working Group that recently delivered its National Sodium Reduction Strategy Report to the federal Minister of Health.
“Ron is recognized and respected for his national policy work, which he will be able to leverage and bring considerable insight to Canada’s largest province,” says CRFA President and CEO Garth Whyte. “I am very pleased that he has agreed to take on the challenge of leading CRFA in Ontario and am confident he will continue to grow our presence as a partner in Ontario’s success.”
“I am very excited about the opportunity to bring my national experience to the provincial policy arena,” said Ron Reaman. “The restaurant industry is a key player in Ontario’s future growth strategy and CRFA members must be recognized for the critical contributions they make to the province’s economy and culture.”
CRFA is one of Canada’s largest business associations, with more than 30,000 members representing restaurants, bars, caterers, institutions and other foodservice providers. Canada’s $60-billion foodservice industry employs more than one million people in communities across the country. Ontario’s $22.5-billion restaurant industry alone has more than 400,000 employees.
