Gaining momentum: CRFA’s Healthy Living Strategy

(Oct. 27/10) CRFA continues to meet with politicians and senior government officials across Canada to discuss our Healthy Living Strategy, identified as our key national priority.

The federal and provincial governments have been receptive to issues and ideas put forth by CRFA – for example, we are working hard to arrive at a practical, workable, national regulatory framework for nutrition disclosure in the industry that would facilitate a consistent approach across the country, rather than a patchwork of initiatives by municipalities. An education and awareness campaign and other industry-led initiatives to direct consumers to healthy choices are also being discussed.

We are also reaching out to members through our Healthy Living Strategy (HLS) survey. We want policy makers to truly understand the industry’s support of healthy living, as well as the challenges we face doing our part to help improve the health of Canadians.

We have extended the HLS survey deadline – if you are a CRFA member and you haven’t filled out the survey, please do so and email your feedback now. For more information, contact Ron Reaman at rreaman@crfa.ca.
