Newfoundland and Labrador election wrap up

(Oct. 17/11) On Oct. 11, Newfoundland elected Progressive Conservative Kathy Dunderdale to a massive majority.

CRFA adopted a strategy of promoting individual member engagement with local candidates. To this end, we developed a toolkit to help operators convey industry issues such as:

payroll taxes;
minimum wage and the need for differentials;
wholesale pricing for beverage alcohol;
high workers’ compensation rates and the need for a payment on actual payroll;
red tape reduction; and
labour shortage.

CRFA will hold an industry event with Premier Dunderdale later in the fall.
