Ontario election wrap up
(Oct. 17/11) On Oct. 6, Ontario elected the Liberals for a third term after one of the tightest provincial races in memory. Premier Dalton McGuinty now leads a new minority government.

CRFA worked hard during this election to make sure every political party understood the significant contribution Ontario’s $23-billion restaurant industry makes to the province. In a pre-election survey, we asked members to identify key concerns, which we shared with the parties and the media. CRFA also surveyed party leaders to find out how the restaurant industry factors into their plans.

Following his re-election, Premier McGuinty singled out job creation as the most important piece of Ontario’s economic recovery plan. Given commitments from both parties to collaborate with our industry to support future growth, CRFA is well-positioned to work with government to ensure our industry is part of its job creation strategy.
