Saskatchewan Party re-elected in a landslide

(Nov. 11/11) On Nov. 7, Saskatchewanians re-elected Premier Brad Wall with an overwhelming majority. Wall received a provincial record 64.2 per cent of the popular vote and was rewarded with 49 of 58 seats in the provincial legislature – an increase of 11 seats that also represents a majority of seats in every region of the province.

The opposition New Democrats under leader Dwain Lingenfelter fell to nine seats, with Lingenfelter losing his own seat and then resigning. The reduced caucus will select an interim leader until the party can choose someone new.
