CRFA discusses Saskatchewan’s beverage alcohol regulations
CRFA’s Dwayne Marling (right), met with Hon. Tim McMillan, Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority, to raise restaurateur concerns about potential additional administrative penalties for drivers with BAC levels between .04 and .08, as well as other beverage alcohol issues.
(Feb. 13/12) On Feb. 1, CRFA met with the Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority Tim McMillan to discuss beverage alcohol issues.
CRFA’s top priorities were to:
- express concern over the potential for additional administrative penalties for blood alcohol content (BAC) levels between 0.04 and 0.08;
- discuss Enterprise Saskatchewan’s review of the province’s liquor regulations on behalf of the government; and
- discuss wholesale pricing of beverage alcohol.
The meeting was productive, with Minister McMillan giving careful consideration to CRFA’s concerns and confirming his preference to maintain “Serve It Right” as a voluntary program – a subject we discussed last May.
